My Makeup Wish List

Hello again!

For my first ~real~ post I want to put together a list of makeup products I’m dying to try. Right now I’m in Mexico in the middle of summer, needless to say, it’s pretty hot. For that reason, I’m not wearing a lot of makeup at the moment – just my usual Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara, Natural Collection brow mascara and The Body Shop All in One Cheek Colour blush.

However, I’m heading home for the holidays in two weeks so I hope to pick up and try out some of these products! And use them in a climate where they won’t immediately melt off my face 🙂

Colourpop Lippie Stix, Smashbox Liquid Metals, LUSH Lip Tint

I’ve heard so many great reviews about Colourpop Lippie Stix that I’m dying to try them out. They’re unbelievably affordable and have a great range of colours (Lumiere is a favourite amongst beauty bloggers, so I’ll be sure to try it out!) I also love the look of the deep, bright pink I Heart This Lippie, vibrant red Trust Me and peachy nude Drop Top.

I’m actually not that adventurous when it comes to lip colours but I saw Smashbox Be Legendary Liquid Metals and I fell in love with the metallic foil finish.  Since I love all things Rose Gold, I’ll definitely be picking one up in that shade, and since they’re already pretty out there, I may as well go the whole hog and try Metallic Grey as well! Who knows, maybe I can pull off David Bowie inspired silver lips?

LUSH Lip Tints look right up my street – I don’t wear lipstick on a day to day basis but I’m addicted to lip balm, and these ones have a pretty hint of colour as well as being full of beneficial ingredients. I can’t wait to try some different shades, Latte, Sunkissed and Bamboozled. I love LUSH products in general, and I think these balms along with one of their lip scrubs will keep my (chronically chapped) lips in shape.

Maybelline 24K Nudes Palette, Maybelline Falsies Flared Mascara

It’s purely coincidence that both my ‘eyes’ wishlist items are by Maybelline – I just love the look of the 24K Nudes Palette and I’m keen to try the Falsies Flared Mascara since I’m looking for a more affordable curling mascara. In case you haven’t guessed, I love a bargain and tend to favour drugstore makeup over high-end brands, so I can’t wait to see if this pair is a good substitute for the Naked 3 Palette and my beloved Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara.

Sleek MakeUP Cleopatra’s Kiss Highlighting Palette, The Body Shop CC Cream, NYX Soft Focus Tinted Primer

I’ll confess I don’t know the first thing about contouring, but give me highlighter any day of the week! I’ve mostly been using cream formulas and I’m yet to find one that I really love – of course, I love the look of rainbow highlighters but for everyday use, I’m looking for something a bit more subtle! Hopefully, one or more of the shades in Sleek’s palette will do the trick.

I’m a huge fan of everything in The Body Shop (cruelty-free beauty, yay!) so I’m very glad they have 3 different CC creams on their menu. Since I’m extremely pale I’ll stick to the first 2 shades – I actually like the look of the peachy one best, so I just hope it isn’t too dark for me! They are also SPF20, which is a huge bonus.

It’s a bit of a shock that I’ve reached the end of my list without mentioning anything by NYX. The truth is, there are a lot of products by this brand that I want to try, but number one on my shopping list is their Soft Focus Tinted Primer. I don’t tend to use primers that much but I hear they’re super important, and I just really trust NYX products to do some good. I haven’t seen many tinted primers out there, so I think this one will be the best for evening out my skin tone and smoothing out my pores.

So, that’s all for my wishlist for now! I’ve always got my eyes peeled for new make-up and skincare products to try out, so I’m sure I will be writing more of this kind of post! If you have any recommendations, let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading!
