Well, I’m back. Back in the UK, and back to my blog (finally!) I’m starting to learn and accept that my blogging habit might always be a bit sporadic, and that’s okay. I probably won’t ever make a career out of this, but I’m happy to just keep it as a hobby and to be writing purely because I want to.
Now that what will be remembered in years to come as ‘the long, hot summer of 2018’ is over, I feel like I can get back into my element. Summer, whilst it’s quite nice, doesn’t get me as excited and inspired as the cosiness of Autumn does. I know that some people thrive on sunshine, long days, outdoors and hot weather, but I feel much more like me when there’s a chill in the air, the evenings get longer, and I can break out my jumper collection.
Maybe it’s because September brings the start of a new school year, so it’s been engrained into me since childhood, but I always feel like Autumn is the best time to start afresh. There are still 4 months left to finish (or restart…) any resolutions made at the beginning of the year, and I think this weird place when there’s plenty of time left BUT the end is in sight is really inspiring.
Personally, my ‘revised’ goals for the remainder of the year are to get my blogging mojo back – which hopefully won’t be too difficult now that it’s Autumn and I’ve got lots to talk about – and developing some kind of niche. Not too niche, though, but not blabbering on about anything and everything, and making sure everything I write is interesting, well-researched and well-written.
I also want to get a grip on this ‘adulting’ thing – hopefully getting a job that pays more than minimum wage (although that plan is NOT going well so far!) but basically, I hope to have a bit of money saved up before the year is out. Not much, but I’d love to not be broke for the first time ever. Along the same lines of being a grown up, I’d like to do ‘the usual’ – overhaul my diet and exercise routine (or lack thereof).
Finally, I hope to launch at least one of the few small business ideas I’ve got under my belt (or under one of the many jumpers I’m wearing…)
That’s all I’ll say about that for now!
I’m sure I’m not the only one who is SO READY for Autumn to properly start. Please share your Autumnal posts with me in a comment (I’ll be sharing my favourites on Twitter!) and let me know what your favourite seasonal activities are!
